Shelly Perlman is, of course, the Sis in Bro N' Sis Productions. She is the studio manager, writer and art director. When she is not busy drawing zany cartoon characters, she can be often seen doodling in a seaside cafe.
Shelly started in July 1997 as a greeting card designer while living in Sweden. That year she developed over 160 different cards and worked with the six biggest greeting card publishers in Sweden!
Soon her designs were being published in Denmark, Germany and Belgium. Only a year later, her cards reached 12 different countries. At this point she also started to work together with Sar on the writing when the workload was heavy.
In Sept 1998. she moved to the U.S. and worked in 3D and graphic design ata busy advertising agency, where she further developed her skills as an artist and also learned about the many aspects of production and design.
In 2003 she returned to Europe to live in Portugal and founded a new company called Pearls & Shells Publications. She continued to create greeting cards and in 2004 started to print and export her greeting card lines, offering not only the design but also the complete and full production. Pearls & Shells expanded and by May 2006 it exported Shelly’s cards into 28 countries around the world, with more than 144 greeting card designs being created each year.
Shelly never stopped to develop and refine her business contacts. Today she works with 3 different printers depending on the job requirements. The suppliers who have worked with her since 2003 are there to supply high quality and competitive packaging, envelopes, bags, stands, wrapping, flow wrapping, shipping and more.
In July 2006, Shelly changed direction towards writing and publishing her comic books and the "Bro n' Sis Productions team" was unofficially born. Shelly Perlman and her brother Sar Perlman, started working together to write, draw and also print and prepare books and comics. In Aug 2008, Shelly merged Pearls & Shells Publications and officially created Bro n' Sis Productions |
Sar Perlman is the other half of Bro N' Sis. He manages the U.S. office and is the writing director. When he is not busy typing away on his computer, he enjoys kiteboarding and pestering his dog.
Sar is a published author, seasoned journalist, and a public relations & marketing professional. He co-wrote two university textbooks about sales, promotions and public relations, and has contributed to Art & Antiques, Car & Driver, Power & Motoryacht, Millionaire and other nation-wide U.S. magazines. He has lectured at Berkeley and California State University Stanislaus.
